Shoutbox, new SB posting notification

Seeing that the shoutbox is not used extensively, most of the time probably because members have no way of knowing if and when a new shout has been made, I would suggest adding a shoutbox link to the main menu at the top of the page that will refresh every minute or so, indicating the number of new shouts having been made since your last login. This will make it more visible than the current system of looking it up on a trial and error basis.
I am using the Invision forum software and a user created shoutbox, rather than the VBulletin that is used here, just a matter of preference really, but that will do it with just a couple of changes in the ACP.
I am not sure if the shoutbox used here has this built-in function but it is quite easy to set up manually too and such a tweak is probably available ready made anyway.
