My fiance does it in the shower, too, with the razors that have the replaceable heads. He takes his sweet time, and works on one section at a time and keeps the skin pulled as taut as he can.

I don't know if it makes a difference with guys or not, since he's never done it, but I find with myself atleast that if I've let things go for awhile and my hair's grown out more, I always get a better looking shave if I trim it back first.

I shave below every day as I shower. My skin has become accustomed to it and I seldom get a cut. I pull my sack skin tight and shave both up and down. I use a Gillette multi blade and shaving cream but shampoo or conditioner works. For me, regular shaving works best and I can do the job in around 2 or 3 minutes.
