I doubt there will be a chatroom on this site for our use.

I do visit a site called jackinchat, but beware as most of those guys have cocks, or at least say they do, and not small or tiny dicks so some can be rude. They have a chatroom that we may be able to use.

My idea is that when you bring up the chatroom and they want a screen name you put mtd before your name and that way others on this site would know you have small or tiny dick then could chat.

May not work but just throwing out an idea.

why dont we all just add each other on skype or something, it has type chat, voice chat, and video PLUS its free. or what about oovoo or stickam, just make private room? just an idea...

Why not just get a Meebo or Chatango chat box? I had a chatango chat box on my old website and it was VERY easy to implement. Hell, I even got myself a BBfree2 (or something, it's been years) coded chat box that fit nicely on the front page.

I looked at the stickam chat stuff and the room closes One hour after the last person leaves the chat. So unless someone can stay in the private room constantly we would have to keep making a chat room. Unfortunately I can't keep my browser open 24/7 since the kids would probably find it.

They do have a chatroom but it is not accessible to normal members but staff only. Every forum software does come, usually with a 5 user licence, with one of those.

I co-run a documentary forum and allthough we use a different supplier, the cost of a full fledged chat will set them back about US-$ 25-40. It is the installation that need the attention. You don't want all the world to be able to listen in, do you. Espicially not google.

Now you've got me surprised, every forum software I ever licensed came with a free chat for at least 5 users.

Maybe it just hasn't been set up, it does require installation throught the ACP.

Or it is living proof that you learn something new every day. LOL

I just checked https://www.vbulletin.com the maker of that software. At first glance, there does not seem to be a chat feature included. :(

A chat room is a good way to meet and greet others

From what I can gather, TD doesn't have access to those parts of the ACP (Admin Control Panel) that are required to install additional software.

So, until Ricemaster either decides to grant him full access or installs it himself, I guess we are out of luck on the Chatroom front.

Only thing I can think off would be if someone here was willing and able to investigate what might be available (and obviously fully compatible with this forum software) at no cost, download it, post it here and provide instructions for its implementation. That might tempt RM to give in to your request.

Alternatively, stick to Skype, Yahoo or any of the other chat programs available. Though that being said, it would be good if the community could agree on a single software to be used, as this would make life easier. Anybody interested in participating you just set up an acct there with a pre agreed part in the log in name used, like 'Hoverfly_MTD', this being just an example.

Also, you'd have to make sure the software was available for all common OS platforms, we don't want anybody left out in the cold just because he may be using an Apple or a PC with Linux.
