When you stroke off, do you just go at until you blow your load, or do you get a little creative?

What I do is normally get myself to where I feel I'm almost there but far enough away to avoid blowing my entire load. I'll then sit there, maybe touch my knob a little and then a drop of cum (actual thick white cum, not pre-cum) emerges from the tip of my dick.
