At the end of the day, I think it is me who should feel flattered that she chose me, rather then the other way round. 27 years in April now and it is getting better every day. No bad, bearing in mind that apart from one couple of friends in Germany and a couple here in Britain everybody else got divorced at some point or another.
What probably did help in the end was her level head and that we went through some rough times with her health for years where I played the nurse. All this bonded us together because of what can only be described as being doggedly tenacious.
Don't get me wrong, there were times when I got quite depressed about our situation but there was something that always stopped me from walking out.
I hope that at least one of our daughters inherited that marriage longevity gene from us, I know one hasn't. LOL
