I don't know about UK sites, but I did use a couple of Canadian sites that were advertising on TV. Not much better than the others in the end. They were may be a bit better designed and maintained. And they sure looked like they were making money. I did found that the sites that give you less free options seems to be the ones that make more money. Is that a coincidence? I don't know. The site that tricked me into paying for an account was one of them though. And I don't think that was a coincidence.
I won't be naming any of these sites for obvious reasons.
I'm not sure what you mean by sort of sites. They were basically all boasting to be the best site to meet/date people.
As for the north american percentage of obese, I believe it is more in the 40%, especially in younger people.
