He never actually got away because he's still in my life and has been since we broke up. He has MS and I help him with a few things (take him to appointments, stuff like that). When he was able to live alone I would clean his house once a week, cook some food and bring over and make sure he had clean clothes. I guess with him being a part of my life for 5 years and him living just down the street from my parents house, I couldn't completely sever ties.
