I would say as long as you are not totally addicted to masturbation. Also if it isn't causing you any problems mentally or psychically then it is fine. I have heard its better to cut down the frequency per day as you get older. I usually masturbate like 1-3 times daily but on average 2 times.

Any activity is only a problem IF it significantly interferes with other important areas of your life. Your call, in most instances. However, if it causes you to skirt responsibilities to others, or interferes with your well-being (job, relationships, etc.) then it is a problem.
