I think that this is one of the things that society actually got right.
There is a reason why 12 years should not have sex. They are still children, children that need their parents to take care of them. They are not ready to deal with pregnancy, children or many different std's.

It is only in relative modern society that girls are thought to be too young for sex (and having children) until late teens or older. Of course life expectancy was a lot fewer years - a girl may be considered nearing spinsterhood if she wasnt married and with children by the time she was in her early 20's. All I'm saying is that it's biologically natural. I don't tend to agree completely with society's limitations. Yes, while I do agree that the way children are being treated and raised these days (eg. people think they can do nothing for themselves, molly-coddling, thus they tend not to grow up as fast) that they shouldn't be having sex young. However, if they were allowed to grow up naturally, without the oppression of those older than them who feel like age means everything, they would be ready for sex, and everything else in life, at a much lower age.
